Yes! The castle is open every day from 10am for self-guided tours. We are only closed for 3 days over the Christmas Period. 24th, 25th 26th December.

Visitors can start a self-guided tour from 10am. The last tour of the day is at 4pm.

Guided tours are available for groups of 10+ on request!

The house tour takes approx. 30 minutes.

Brambles Cafe offers a range of hot and cold, sweet and savoury options to eat in or take away with the castle tearooms and also a kiosk beside the playground.

The demense and gardens are free to enter and walk around. However there is an entry fee to the castle tour. Concession rates are available for students, seniors and carers. Group rates are also available.

The park is open from 9am all year round. Closing times vary throughout the year, please check our opening times here.

Dogs are not permitted in the tearooms (except guidedogs), but they are permitted on the dining terrace and in the wider park but must be kept on a lead at all times.

No, there is no lift access to the house, however there is wheelchair access to the ground level of the house and out to the dining terrace. Access to the basement level and the gallery is possible. We recommend that visitors with limited mobility contact us beforehand to plan your visit to the castle and Ardgillan Gallery.

There is no ATM on-site however card payments are accepted.

An adult ticket is for anyone aged over 18 and under 65. Students may be asked for a student card or proof that they are in education. We happily accept international student cards. Senior tickets are for those aged 65 and over.

Yes, we have lots of free car and coach parking available and there are disabled parking spaces allocated in the main car park. The lower carpark is located closer to the castle is reserved for over-70’s and visitors with limited mobility

Absolutely. We have plenty of designated picnic areas where you can enjoy your own picnic or pick up some food to go from Brambles Cafe to eat outdoors.

No. Unfortunately visitors are not permitted to BBQ anywhere on the grounds of the park.

Yes! There is a fantastic state-of-the-art playground less than a five minute walk from through a wooded pathway from from the main car park, near the Castle and boasting stunning seaviews!

No camping or overnight stays are permitted.

We do. If you message us on Facebook or Twitter and let us know what you lost, we’ll do our best to reunite you with your items.

Self-guided and guided tours are conducted through English.

Yes! The tour content is suitable for any younger visitors.

Yes! There is a small craft shop in the castle displaying art and crafts from local artists, designers and makers!
