SACRED GEOMETRY DRAWING CLASS

Participants will use compasses and a ruler, along with a step-by-step drawing processes to construct beautiful geometric patterns. These drawn patterns contain symmetries found in the natural world, such as in flowers, as well as in the planetary movements of our solar system. Although primarily a practical drawing class, there will also be various beautiful PowerPoint presentations focusing upon geometry in nature and the wider cosmos. The whole session, from start to finish, will focus upon the spiritual meaning and symbolism conveyed by geometry and pattern and how, for millennia, it has been understood, in sacred art and architecture – as well as within religious and philosophical ideas, the world over – as something that
expresses and embodies the eternal, the unchanging and the beautiful.
