GUIDED GARDEN TOUR SERIES – EARLY SUMMER

Join our head gardener, Dominica McKevitt, on 22nd May, for a guided tour of the breathtaking gardens at Ardgillan Demesne. This monthly event offers a unique opportunity to explore the gardens throughout the seasons. Discover the ever-changing beauty and seasonal highlights at Ardgillan.
This month, to celebrate Biodiversity Week 2025, Dominica will focus on the significant role Ardgillan Demesne plays in supporting biodiversity through its diverse habitats, conservation efforts, and educational initiatives.
The demesne encompasses a variety of ecosystems, including woodlands, grasslands, and coastal areas. These habitats provide shelter and food for numerous species of birds, mammals, and insects.
Ardgillan’s ornamental gardens, such as the Cottage/Irish Garden, showcase plants of Irish origin, including native species and varieties bred by Irish nurseries. This focus on native flora supports local biodiversity by providing habitats for indigenous pollinators and other wildlife .
Participants can choose to enjoy a guided tour of the gardens, or combine it with a self-guided house tour to experience both the historic mansion and its surrounding landscapes.
Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of Ardgillan’s gardens, gain expert gardening advice, and enjoy the tranquility of one of Ireland’s most stunning estates
