Call-out for Fingal-Based Artists & Makers – Eight Studio Spaces Available at Ardgillan Castle

Ardgillan Castle Ltd. is delighted to announce that eight studio spaces are becoming available from May 2026 in the stunning surroundings of Ardgillan Castle, overlooking the Irish Sea between Balbriggan and Skerries in North County Dublin.

This opportunity is open to artists and craftspeople based in the Fingal area who wish to create, develop and retail their work in a truly inspirational heritage setting. (Note: studios are only accessible during castle opening hours.)

 

What’s on Offer?

License agreement for 1 year, to the maximum duration of 3 years.

Artist-friendly monthly rate.

Studios within the Castle, including:

· Option of shared studio spaces

· Open studios ideal for artists who can maintain a strong weekend presence, welcoming and engaging with visitors

· Closed studios suited to artists seeking a quieter, more private workspace

· Additional Studios located in the charming Gardener’s Cottage (accessible)

Workshop Opportunities

Selected artists will also have the opportunity to facilitate workshops within the castle, creating meaningful public engagement while generating additional income.

Exhibition Opportunities

Ardgillan Castle opened Ardgillan Gallery in March 2023, providing a contemporary artistic space in Fingal. The gallery hosts exhibitions, artist talks, workshops and events.

1. Detailed CV (maximum two pages) – PDF format only

2. Artist Bio (maximum 300 words) – PDF format only

3. Covering Letter outlining:

  • Your connection to Fingal
  • Your intentions for the space
  • Details of materials and processes
  • Any specific requirements (ie water, kilns, machinery)

4. Visual Artists:

  • Up to six images of your work

Please ensure all files include your name in the file title
