Guided Tour

Experience the rich heritage of Ardgillan Castle with a guided tour led by our local volunteer guides, available exclusively for groups of more than 10 people. This in-depth tour must be booked in advance.

Your knowledgeable guide, passionate about local history, brings the castle to life with captivating stories and detailed insights about its architecture, the lives of The Taylor Family, and their historical influence over the development of surrounding towns.

Starting in the grand entrance hall, you’ll be led through opulent rooms, filled with period furnishings and artifacts. The guide’s engaging narration provides a vivid picture of life in the castle through the ages, highlighting key events and anecdotes that are not found in guidebooks.

Beyond the castle walls, visitors are invited extend their tour by following the self-guided Heritage Trail around the beautiful gardens and parklands. Our Heritage Trail plynths are dotted along scenic paths. Discover hidden traces of the Taylor’s lives, and enjoy panoramic views of the Irish Sea, making for a truly immersive and personal experience leaving you with a deeper appreciation of Ardgillan Castle’s legacy.
