Heritage Week Celebrations 2025 Recap

Heritage Week 2025

Heritage Week at Ardgillan Castle 2025

Thank you to all who visited the castle and attended events, you made Heritage Week 2025 truly special! Enjoy a recap of events below.

Celebrating Our Foundations during this year’s Heritage Week, we had an event-filled week!

From a trad performance in the Drawing Room on Saturday the 16th of August, to Dublin’s Finest performing in the same room to close our week of celebrations the following Sunday, you all made it a very successful week.

Trad Music in the Drawing Room
Pictured are Eoin, Caty and Roisin. Trad musicians from Dublin. Eoin is playing the Uilleann Pipes, Caty is playing the fiddle and Roisin is on trad flute.

Castle creation collage
Photos taking during the kids castle creating workshop held in Ardgillan Castle, connecting children with castles as we reimagined what the castle would look life if they designed it!

Weaving Workshop
Above are photos taking during our weaving workshop for kids. Lots of concentration and creativity needed to design these artworks which were then put onto small branches and turned into hanging decorations.

Garden Tour
On Wednesday of Heritage week, Head Gardener Dominica Mckevitt treated us to a very informative garden tour. Showcasing the many Irish plants and roses we have as well as showing off the late Summer blooms.

Tom's Tour of the Castle Grounds
Castle manager, Tom, had the masses enthralled with his ever popular heritage focused tour of the castle grounds. Who better to give a tour than the castle manager himself?

Dublin's Finest
Closing the Week of events in Ardgillan castle with a performance by some of Dublin’s Finest (literally). Spending the afternoon as in the Drawing Room, the audience was welcomed by music and poetry, bringing the Drawing Room back to how it is supposed to be!

Thank you to all who attended our events during Heritage Week 2025!
