Ardgillan Gallery

 Winter Exhibition 2023

Ardgillan Gallery are delighted to present their inaugural Winter Exhibition. The exhibition opened on 18th November and will run to Friday 22nd December. Following an open call, artworks were selected from 37 artists with a connection to Fingal. Local artist Kate Ward guest curated the show.

The artists have worked across a wide range of styles including abstract, representational and realism. Within these styles, they have used a vast array of mediums from print to stone sculpture and from painting to mixed media. The exhibition is a celebration of the creativity in the Fingal area. Curator Aisling Dunne commented on the show, “We are excited to show such a diverse range of artistic styles and mediums in this exhibition. The theme relates to the change in light at this time of year as we reach the darkest day of the year and then the days begin getting longer again. Ireland has a rich history of celebrating the Winter Solstice and the hope it brings for the year ahead.”

The gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm in the basement of the Castle.
The adjoining courtyard is now also open for visitors to enjoy.
